Default curious problem

hi all

started car this morning and got a plume of bluey smoke???? smelt a smell of burning oil but now its all fine???? what u think could be the problem? car is a my02 on 52000 miles

Did you give it a bit of stick, the last time you used it?
More opportunity for burning some oil on a turbo car than normal aspirated.

not really given it any stick, hasnt done it since but still puzzling to why it did it in the first place.

Only takes a tiny amount of oil to weep past the valve seals, for instance, to be noticable on start-up. When my son had his first STi you would see a small amount of oil smoke on start from cold, and that was with only about 3k miles on the clock! - not even run-in. Maybe that's why!
