Default relocation of induction kit to were top mount was

Is this a good idea. As im running a FMIC i should have enough space to fit my induction kit where it went so that it gets plenty of cool air.

The only problems i can think off is that the pipes will be running above a very hot 20g turbo so this could cause hot air issues. But ive got a turbo blanket and some heat rap so could sheet the induction kit off.

Surely this would be better that where it is now?

Anyone ever tryed this or heard of anyone doing it.

I'm pretty certain if seen it somewhere. but it is not very common.
You need to make some kind of a housing which collects the air from the scoop. Then some fancy piping back to the front of the car. Also you need some airfilter which is fully housed (like Green makes) and can be fitted inbetween the piping.
If done this way there should be some added benefit of the RAM air effect.
But I think it only is worth the effort when you have a Rotated turbo setup. then the needed piping can be much simpler.

Why not run a rectangular style panel filter under the scoop like the current WRC cars do?

perfect!
but requires custom housing and alternative turbo position thus custom downpipe and uppipe etc...
this is a lot of work and money for not much gain.
air intake from right front wing ain't that bad

ran mine there for a while.. intake temps hot when in traffic but very quick to return to ambent when driving off.. main problem was the filter got very dirty as in direct air etc... also evidence of water going into filter.. so not ideal if maf based.

I must admit, water ingress would be my main concern.
