Default Pistons forged in STI 2006/07??

According to this Australian performance it does not take forged pistons and I saw in Australian forums that its version 2.5T does not support more of 350hp? model EU takes same the pistons that model AU/US?

No the 2.5ltr STi engine fitted to the Impreza does not have forged pistons, the NEW 2.5ltr engine though will have stronger internals, the JDM 2ltr car (2003 onwards) also does not have forged pistons but these are stronger than the forged pistons you find in the 2ltr UK/EU models

Really? So does that mean you can mechanically push the standard internals more than you can with other STI's?

I dont know for sure but the V7 sti is said to be one of the strongest standard subaru engines ever built.

AFAIK Scooby Mania ran a stock internaled STI 7 with an FP Green turbocharger at 452bhp and approx 375lbsft of torque for 10 months and couldnt break it no matter how hard they tried.

It was eventually pulled for a built 2.5 and the old V7 lump is still sitting on the bench at Scooby Mania.... Unbroken

No, the "forged piston" myth about them being the strongest isnt exactly true, main factor being that you get forged pistons and then you get forged pistons.
The 2ltr JDM twin scroll engines are the strongest of all the STi's that have been built, supposedly good for around 500bhp though ive not heard of anyone running that BHP, though alot of people are running 400+ with very little modification to the engine
Running 400+ on a uk engine isnt recommended though.
