ok my car is only just been imported it has a lovely eclipse double din tv/sat nav/md/cd player it plays cd's but the sat nav is in jap and the radio only goes up to 90.00 fm also i cant tune any tv channels is there anything i can do to get this working as its a lovely headunit and would hate to have to change it?? thanks

 

Hi bud for the radio stations you need to get hold a band expander, they are round £10-£15 from that well know auction website.

as for the sat nav you'll have to do a bit of research to see if you can get hold of the software in English, as you'll find the only maps loaded will be of Japan anyway.

yeah you need a band expander for the radio channels. on the tv side though this will may or may not change anything. hopefully you will find that it will increase the whole range of frequency it searches. if you have 1 aerial for both systems then you should be ok.

i have a similar touch screen double din dvd system but i already had the band expander installed from previous owner so it runs fine once its in. mine is slightly different though i presume as i have 2 seperate airials one for tv and one for radio.

i also have a freeview box which was only £25 and easy to install so get one of those its great. it shares the tv aireal so would solve your problem of finding stations if the band expander doesnt help you.

how do you go about fitting the freeview box? is it just a normal one that you would buy for your house tv? where did you get it from thanks
