Hi i have just got a 1995 impreza 1.6GL got it mot and it failed on both outer c v joint gaiters as they have split ive bought new ones but was wondeing how to fit them. Have found how to do it on some other cars but cant find out how to do it on a scooby. Any help is much appreciated, thanks

Undo everything, take the driveshaft off, separate the CV joint from the 'shaft, put boot on and re-assemble, or just buy one of the wrap round jobbys and do it in a few mins

ive heard that the wrap round ones are a bit dodgy though as you have to glue them together. Thanks

take off inner joint from gearbox, slide new boot over and up towards the outer joint, = easier and a lot less messier

edit: this is sticky, dam boy has left himself logged in on the works pc

i used one of those wrap round ones on an escort cabriolet...it passed the m.o.t and was ok till i sold the car.gonna do one later today on a 106
