I knwo this is a drive question but no one ever answers in there lOL


I have a 1995 Impreza Waggon Import..... It has 37 Teeth on the rear diff.

On the new oen i have from a mate it has 39 Teeth.


Would i be right in saying that the Jap Spec has less teeth and the uk has more??

Sounds like that is the case

unbolt your gear and bolt it on to the other diff (If you can unbolt them, haven't had one apart.. Yet.)

Which teeth are you referring to, the crown wheel?

Some are bolted on

 

yeah the big cog. (gear)

 

can you swap it over so you have your cog on the new diff? if you don't have the correct number of teeth it will break your centre diff

 

Yeah i knew about the Teeth thing. Dont really want to have to strip the two difs i dont have the knowledge to do it really. I think ill put back together and take it to ASP
