Default Engine probs,hesitating mostly

Im up in Thurso and having probs with my sub, anyone up in Thurso or at least inverness or above good at checking sub engines?

Main prob is when engine is cold (ie. first thing in morning) it hesitates now and again when driving, also when left idling at cold the revs are very irratic and looks to be dropping too low and almost stalling engine (this must be whats causing it to hesitate when driving). Car runs fine once hot.

Last night appeared to get a flat spot at medium/high revs in 5th, then came back to life but Check Engine light came on until i dropped my speed back down.
Went up to speed again and it was ok.

Have serviced the car since prob with hesitating started but this made no difference.

It’s a 93 import WRX.

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers

if the cel light came on then i would expect the ecu has registered a fault.

I had a hesitation problem. In the end it was the spark plugs. I know over here they dont change the spark plugs every service. Might be worth checking out.
