Better brakes, i went for late model 4 pot calipers with standard discs,Black Diamond pads,Goodridge hosing and better brake fluid.
Powerwise have alook at PolarPerformance (Scott T on here) as the ecu isn't remappable as standard but can have a daughter board put into the spare slot on the motherboard.
Suspensionwise i've changed the rear droplinks seems to have made a slight difference in cornering (imprezas do understeer quite a bit)

Better brakes are always a good idea, a scoobyecu from scott.T is one of the best £200 spent to take the engine up to 280bhp safely (all you need is a decat which you already have). If you want more power add a front mount intercooler ,440cc injectors and a 3 bar MAP sensor and get an ESL live map from your local dealer, this should see you to a pretty safe 320bhp. As has been said before 320bhp in a classic is the same power weight as 390bhp in a bug eye!

also make sure you get an upgraded clucth as that may start to slip with the new power. Thats if the clutch hasnt been changed already
