Question Exhausts with twin tailpipes?

Hey guys, anyone know if there is an aftermarket backbox available for the impreza that has a twin tailpipe and looks anything like the standard one? My car is completely standard (looks wise ) and I wanna keep it that way....but I also wouldn't mind getting a new backbox for the bit of extra noise & teeny tiny bit of extra power before I get a re-map

I'm probably the only one that actually likes the look of that, but I just think it's perfect for the car. Anybody know of a backbox like that? Or is my only option to go to a custom place and get them to make a backbox that looks the same sorta thing?

Cheers

I am sure adding a twin exit wouldn't be a problem

Hayward & Scott are brilliant for stuff like that. Did the most amazing repair job on my old crushed Nur Spec tailpipe and are also redoing both my current exhaust system and sport cat with 3" flanges instead of the poxy 2.5" ends. Worth a call imo .

Would one of those 'strangle' the flow when compared to my Ninja i have now do you think? Bearing in mind the car was mapped with the Ninja on it.
I would be tempted to swap for a quieter twin pipe design like that as long as it didnt cause any issues.

Cool

Got the power engineering one on mine, looks very much like the standard exhaust but with a three inch pipe and two three inch tail pipes so no restriction at all and it,s not too loud unless you remove the pipe reducers from both exit pipes.

Exhausts UK made mine, not what you are looking for but they will also make one to whatever design you want. They will make you one with a splitter and a twin back boxes if you want it.

Bloody hell, that looks quite cool actually! And £165 don't seem bad either! Will changing the back box free up much power? I have got a ninja sports cat downpipe, afterburner de-cat centre section & sti panel filter on the car at the mo.....and so am gonna get it re-mapped as soon as I can.....but am wondering if I should probably change the back box first? No point me improving the front half of the exhaust system if the backbox on the end of it is restricting it is there!

2.5" ends! I prefer more girth myself, like my twin 90mm Remus back box. Not too loud but beautifully built

IMHO they look odd with a twin exit and also I never see the point in having a twin exit pipe on a single entry box, its more restrictive.

Well they're twin exit standard.....and I think changing to one exit makes 'em look odd......so it's a matter of opinion innit. Plus I think a completely standard car (looks wise) with an obviously after market exhaust on it would look stupid. In the same way a corsa with an obviously aftermarket exhaust on the back looks stupid. I know some exhausts look okay, but yeah that's just my opinion anyway! Fair enough if you've got other mods to go with it....but seeing as I wanna keep the look standard......y'know.

Plus.....forgive me for being stupid.....but ur gonna have to explain to me why TWO exits are more restrictive than ONE I can sorta understand like the air is having to be 'split' rather than just going out of one exit.....but like.....take a 3.5" single exit for example.......and a 2.5" twin exit.....the twin exit is gonna have more 'exit area' or whatever you wanna call it, isn't it?
