Is something breaking?
Hi
I have a WR1 on 28k miles, I've recently had the 30k service done at Ashburton Motors.
I went on a motorway trip of around 350 miles last week, all at relatively sedate speeds. When I pulled off the motorway, I noticed a ringing sound that didn't seem to be affected by engine speed, but stopped when the car stopped. When I but the car out of gear & sat idling in neutral, there seemed to be a short whine, just after going into neutral. For the rest of the time, I drove very carefully. The next morning, the symptoms had gone. The car performs as normal & the clutch seems fine, although the bite position is fairly high on the pedal travel.
What could be wrong please?

Could be your Aircon compressor.
They are lubricated by the Aircon gas so you really need to run them for ten minutes every week.
I had this and it steadily got worse till I decided to take this to the garage, I ran the aircon with full 'coldness' and by the time I got to the garage it was purring like a kitten. LOL
Trying explaining to the garage, that you had a noise but after reading the handbook about running the aircon, you have now realised that the Aircon needs to be run for ten minutes a week, sorry.......... see ya.

Thanks guys
I spoke to a mechanic at Ashburton, he said that it sounded like a stone got stuck in the brakes for a while.
I dunno, there's no symptoms now - I'll feedback if anything turns up/breaks.
