short ****er fitting guide?

hi just brought a short shifter and cant seem to find any fitting guides? can anyone help?

2003 wrx. just tried to fit it but once installed i found it lifted the linkage bar to a height which caused it to foul. therefore lesson learned...do not buy parts off fleabay!!!
