Default Engine won't start after Rebuild??

Hi,
Just had my engine rebuilt due to a piston failing. Its a 1994 wrx RA.

Everything is back together now including new lamda sensor, plugs etc.

Basically my mechanic just can not get it started! He's done subarus before but can not find the problem with this one?

Tried all obvious things -

* Different plugs
* Coil Pack OK
* ECU Reset all is flashing OK
* Timing Correct
*

Anybody have any ides or ever had this prob before after a rebuild.

HELP.

Thanks.

Make sure all electrical connectors are tight, cam sensors, crank sensors, injectors & engine loom interconnect are main culprits. Is the fuel pump priming when you turn ignition?

Wink

Think I have heard of people mixing the cam and crank sensor wires up... Worth checking the silly things...

as said when i had my engine out for the first time it wouldnt start easy first time did a fault check and said it was the coolant temp sensor checked all the wires turned out one of the pins was slighty bent on the engine multi plug and pushed the wire out of the end with a bit of head scratching sorted and never a prob again

This is a complete shot in the dark mate, but a few years ago, I had rebuilt a Calibra Turbo, and it took a LONG time to start, yet would bump start easy everytime. Sensors were replaced, wiring was triple checked, new plugs, replaced coil, new leads, new starter...yada yada....you know what it was? The head wasn't building compression fast enough to ignite!!!

Replaced head, and bam! Started first time everytime!

As I said, thats a shot in the dark regarding your problem, but its very easy to have your compression checked in each cylinder bud. Might be worth a try?

Good luck with it! Hope you get her on the road soon
