Default Missing Lambda sensor!????????

Just failed MOT on Lambda readings CO passed etc.
Having inspected the car it appears to have a big bolt where the sensor should go!? The car is a 1994 WRX JDM with Scoobyecu, is there any reason why this would have been removed?
Also am I right in thinking the cable is the other half of the cable that connects to the MAF sensor and a 3 pin one?
Apart from the abobe the horn doesnt work and the fog light so pretty good!
I would like to order the sensor today so if somebody could confirm the sensor is 3 pin and im right about the cable that would be great!

Where did you check for the O2 sensor? AFAIK, for that year of car, the O2 sensor is not located on the downpipe but on/before the uppipe.

Uppipe/downpipe!!
Im not sure which is which?
There is a place for it on the big pipe that connects to the back of the turbo but it is filled with a big bolt, are you saying it could be on another pipe?
I have a good look around underneath the car and couldn't see a sensor anywhere, where about's is the Uppipe ?
Thanks
The car is a version 1/2 1994

there should be a lamba sensor in that hole mate. Dont know why its been removed but the best thing to do is go to a garage that deals in performance cars or a subaru dealership. I'm sure they will be happy to give you some advice. Lamba sensor's are about £100 i think.

as already mentioned on that age of JDM car its not in the normal location.....its in the drivers side collector of the manifold
if you stand at the drivers side front wing and look down the front of the cam cover you should see the wiring coming up that side

Hi thanks for all the advice guys, I cannot find a sensor anywhere on this car!!!!

I have looked at the manifold from underneath and above on the drivers side and cannot see any wiring, i have had a torch underneath and cannot see anything on the manifold anywhere I have some equal length headers and they have a hole for the sensor and i have checked where that is as a reference point and still no joy!

Am i running without a sensor?

Does the plug for the sensor come from the same wiring lkoom as the maf plug?
I have taken a pic of this plug here http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...s250t/PLUG.jpg
Is it the right one?
Has anyone got a picture of the sensor in place on both types of car?

cant see the plu from work as they block access to the pictures, however from what you have said I am guessing it is the cat on fire plug, and this sensor is in the downpipe which you say is bolted up. This is okay as that isnt the lambada, as mentioned by stockcar that will be underneath the car on the drivers side headers. I have replied in your other thread as well that the wiring could possibly be tucked on the inside of the bumper so best bet is car on ramp or axle stands and have a good look around the drivers side underneath

I have tried this i shall have anoither go, i cannot see any evidence of a wire near the drivers side headers and indeed there is no place for the sensor on the headerrs or uppipe, somebody has said the plug is for the Lambda but I cant be certain, it has the white wire with the silver stripe, there are onloy two wires this colour coming out of the ecu and the other one goes to the maf sensor!
Thanks again for all the help!

Jturbo is right, if it is a pre sept 1995 then it should have a non cat test.
