Later engine into '96 wrx ?

I've seen a high spec built 2.0 engine for sale,the guy says it's from a 99/00 model and thinks the wiring loon may stop it from dropping straight into my wrx.

Anyone know anything about this ?

long engine won't drop in without loom and ecu etc..
