Default sti headers a remap

hi every one,
this is my first post on scoobynet, just joined up after looking at your site for months.i,m after a bit of info if anyone can help, i,ve got a 52 plate sti with the ppp on ,but i want more, what i,m thinking of doing is adding a set of tubular headers and a ecutec remap. i was wondering if anyone that as already done this could tell me how much difference it has made .or have i got to spend more hard earned! and upgrade the turbo a injectors etc. to make any noticble difference.
thanks

Hi welcome to the forum,

I would not waste your money on Headers for now, there only really needed if your looking for power figures in excess of 400bhp.

The best way to get more power for the moment is to get a Full Decat exhaust (turbo back), 255lph fuel pump then Ecutek Remap. This should see around 350 bhp.

If you want more than that then add a turbo & 650cc injectors to take you to around 390 bhp.

And if your After more than that you'll need to be uprating your engine internals and need a load more cash

thanks for the info sscjay,
heres a couple more questions for you
the exhaust system i,ve got at the mo is the ppp sports cat downpipe then straight through to a tsl fire storm backbox, how much better is a decat than the sportscat
i,ve been led to beleive the ppp includes a uprated fuel pump is this info wrong
heres another one for u, can vta dump valves cause overboost ? because i,ve just taken off a turbosmart supersonic and refitted the origanal and now it feels less of a boost hit at around 4500rpm
thanks

if you want to avoid probs at mot time leave the ppp sports cat on, its one of the best and you would only gain 3-4 bhp on a decat. but by all means replace the center section to add more rumble.
