Default Locating my neutral position switch?

My car is a my94 wrx wagon, was an auto now a manual, where do i find this switch? Is this switch the original one from the auto box? or will it have been replaced to match up with the 2003 5 spd box now installed?
Thanks

I know nothing about a NPS on an auto box. On a manual, it has a NPS in the side of the gearbox, on my classic it's on the passenger side, close to the top (i.e. hard to get at unless on ramps). It simply sends a signal to tell the ECU whether it's in neutral or not. I had a fault with mine and replaced it, but I only knew it had gone wrong because my Power FC showed me that it was clicking in and out randomly. TBH it didn't make a single bit of difference to how it ran. Although perhaps on a standard Subaru ECU it plays a more significant role?

I would guess that your new manual gearbox would have had its own NPS supplied with it rather than reusing anything off the auto box.

I thought the manualbox might have had its own nps, but is the auto loom different to a manual loom?, i know my auto ecu is different overall to a manual ecu?

I would be very surprised if the auto box used the same gearbox loom and sensors as the manual.
