Unhappy sensors

have got a legacy gt twin turbo on a P-reg 1996 and the other day a light came on, on the dash looked a bit like this =[__]= think it is for the sensors in the cat so unplugged one of them as there is 2 and it has gone out, will this affect it any way? i am wanting to put a full stainless system on, so do i need the sensors or can they go

Which sensor is it? O2 sensor or CAT-on-fire sensor?

I dont know too much about the Leggies, but you will definatly need the o2 sensor.
Most impreza owners have done away with the cat-on-fire sensor (just unplugged it from the loom)
I dont know if it would throw up a CEL on a standard ECU, having always had a PFC ECU.

Not sure if thats been any help, but hope you solve it soon
