Default Spec C steering wheel, on 02WRX (pics inside)will it fit

Without removing mine to find out will this be a straight swop for my 02 WRX.

Ie the plug, if not is it a case of just cutting joining and soldering the existing plug onto this one

It wont fit without altering the plug mate.

This is something you have to be vary careful with. You need to cut the existing plug off and solder your plug onto the new airbag loom.

Check my WRC dash thread for more info

DONT CUT ANY WIRES.
Use the loom that came with the wheel.
PM me and I'll guide you through what to do.

If you've bought the 3 spoke wheel, you need to now source the loom that goes with it. Its going to cost you around £50, (give japperformanceparts a call).

Once you have this part you only want the connector that goes into the airbag, the rest of the clockspring/loom is junk.

You then need to cut off your existing airbag connector and replace it with the new one.

Job done

If you want a more detailed post, do a search (author RON) and you'll find his post with pics.

Cookie,
The loom should have been in the box??
If you are half way through the job then it can still be completed, its just neater with the proper loom and doens't need things cut and rejoined.

The connector you are holding is for the horn only. This can be snipped off and joined to the corresponding one on the WRX loom.
The important wiring that should not be cut is for the air bag.

Rather than 2nd guess what you've removed so far, it would best if we speak direct. PM me a tel no. and I'll talk you through.
