Yes, but i wouldn't (different fuelling and boost maps, STI has a different rev limit, better internals).
If you are looking for more power ahave alook at PolarPerformance or JollyGreenMonster.co.uk

It will fit and the engine will run. And at a higher output too.

But remember, if you choose to do this bear in mind that the STi has a stronger engine than the WRX. With this stronger engine the STi can be pushed further, the WRX may not last as long with the STi ECU fitted...

6K (STi2) is the best ECU you can fit to an early classic. 7K (STi2RA) is good, but has a higher redline so inadvisable for that reason.

The internals are all cast AFAIK. The STi2RA has different heads.

Depends on what model STi its off as some of the STi engines differ to the WRX's, though say an original 94 STi would probably fit, later models will fit but your car wont turn over at all.
Cheapest option is to upgrade the ECU with a chip or the likes (or upgrade the ecu to an apexi or similar).

All pre 96s run a green 160 MAF.

A 6K will run all pre Sept 96 td05 cars. (WRX wagon had td04).

ah ha
I would think with bigger injectors ,uprated fuel pump (maybe a fpr) and possibly option 1 (in your current ecu) you would see that.
