Default Classic wagon advice wanted

Hi all, im new 2 the scooby world and would like some advice to make my S reg sport wagon a litlle bit better,

1. What id like is it to be a bit more responsive on the throttle, a little less
hesitant.
2. A little bit stiffer and more "positive" , ie less vague in the corners and roundabouts.

My currrent plans are: strut braces, major service, new clutch cable, different wheels / tyres, better panel filter spark plugs, leads etc.

is this the right way to go? any advice, or parts that you have for sale would be greatly recieved! many thanks alex.

What model wagon? WRX, UK turbo or sport!

None of your suggestions will improve 'responce' (unless you have a problem with the current leads and plugs), a decat downpipe will improve the turbo spool up, and its worth checking for air leaks from the intake system under the interccoler.

If you get new leads, don't get budget ones, they aren't worth it, OE ones from a dealer are about £60/set.

Id say BUSHES lol, Seriously help the feel of a car,and the less you have to slow down for a corner the less u have to speed up again after it,
Then maybe springs or just new shocks to steady it up(thats if ur old ones are knackered),
If its a N/A engine then your better off getting it breathing better, but like you have said a good service inc a fuel filter will help it driver smoother and maybe be more economical.

Jsut to clarify, is you car a 'sportwagon' of indeterminate engine, or an Impreza Sport 'estate'? your slightly ambiguous description is confusing us all!
