i was looking at buying 1 of these engines
http:///cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUBARU-IMPREZ...QQcmdZViewItem
Item number: 170131500779
i emailed the guy and asked him if they are refurbed engines and did they need running in , he said they have new big end bearings and new head gaskets and are all tested and come with 6 months warrenty, and NO they dont need running in ,does this sound a bit fishy

If the engine has *just* been rebuilt, and not been running in a car since the rebuild, it would be safe to apply the usual 1000 mile run in.
TBH you're better looking at API and the likes for a rebuilt engine.
Buy cheap buy twice...

Probally dont need running in as they have not touched the pistons/rings/bores - its just a "low mileage" engine.
You pays your money - you take your chance.
IMHO your better off going to API or one of the other established specialists for engine work.
