Default changing headers without a re-map????

going to order a set of kakumei stainless headers from flat4online i think, as i have not heard any bad reports of them giving way like some other cheaper ones etc etc....

car is currently a my00 uk classic with vf35, warlbro fuel pump de-cat etc with ekutek map.

Anyone changed the headers without map tweek? or will no gains be found until a map tweek takes place?

any thoughts? cheers steve

You will need to have the car mapped for the headers as turbo spool will move later up the rev range.

I wouldn't advise a swap without a tweek, but best bet is to speak to your mapper

what about standard headers ported and wrapped, is a map generally required after these?

You can go to ported headers without a remap because there is a degree of learning within the ECU but to optimise what mods you have and the gains from the ported headers, a remap will help. The spool point will lower and generally you will need to add fuel to get back to your previous AFRs which were possibly on the rich side in the first place.
You may also notice marginally more boost.
