It will pass no bother matey.
Reason: pre Sep 95 imports can be tested with non-cat test, as there is no direct match on the DOT register for WRXs, STis etc.
Experienced this myself with my old MY95 WRX

Hd my my00 classic done recently and refitted a center cat and passed the test ,would neer have got close without.... agree on the earlier cars not needing a cat to pass.... but a 99 should have to pass a proper emmisions test i would think?

I have a fully decatted MY93 wrx, no problems with the MOT emissions test. Like someone else said, 1st registered Pre March 1995, if a vehicle is not listed in the exhaust gas analyser database then the emissions test defaults to 3.5% CO limit. And guess what, import Imprezas are not listed. If you do not make the test station aware though they may well test it as a UK Turbo and fail it. I actually phoned VOSA and had this confirmed.

after a chat with the bloke at falkland performance centre,i found out that my 2000 classic will need a cat to get through the mot,
i'am going to get the downpipe replaced with a catless magnex job,and come mot time falkland performance replace the centre section with a double catted centre section.
