Default STI7 52 plate boost concern

Hi
I own a classic 96 wrx very well tuned and pulls hard all the way through the revs.
I have just bought another scoob a JDM STi version 7 on a 52 plate
but i'm a little worried, my classic runs no more than 1.1bar ever but my STi sometimes boosts at around 1.5bar then slowly drops to 1.1ish as the car picks up. No overboost cut or any safety cut from the ecu happens
and I must admit my classic feels faster.

Can anyone give me some advise as to what may or may not be the problem, I dont want to blow mt sti engine up.

My sti has center and rear exhast 3" but still has cats

Don't worry about it, i have a JDM Sti 7 and it boosts to 1.5 as well. At first i thought that it was broken/remapped but this appears quite normal on all of them as standard !!!

Just cling on tight and enjoy the rush
