Default gasket or air leak? or?????

I've got a 94 wrx import and went for a normal drive the other day then i drove it hard for a minute or two and everything seemed fine. Pulled up at home letting it cool when i noticed a little bit of water (not much) under my car. Looked under the bonnet and the water had came from the pipe thats on the top of the cap on the plastic bottle near the battery. I've checked for water and oil leaks and everythings ok, heaters work (hot and cold), no smoke from exhaust, all pipes get warmed through, fans work. I've tryed to push the car so the water spills out of the pipe near the battery again but it wont. The only thing I've noticed is when I take the pressure cap off the metal tank, warm the engine thru and squeeze the radiator pipes the water spills a little over the tank and if I rev the car theres a little bit of frothy bubbles comes out of the water. Any ideas people?? THANKS IN ADVANCE!

If it was a bit overfilled or had a bit of air to purge then it can vent some liquid out, from what you've been able to tell us a diagnosis is impossible, you just need to put it bcak together, bearing in mind you now have some air to vent out, make sure the catch tank is filled to the level and keep and eye on it!

A little bit of frothy bubbles is normal - at least on my car which has no head gasket leaks I'm aware of.

The function of the cooling system is to make sure your engine temps quickly rise to half way and then stay there so that is normal.

i had filled the coolant close to the top of the header tank so could just be that. Although scoobynet is amazing for info people cant half scare u to death when ur dreading the worst. As for the frothy bubbles lots of people on here have said bubbles are bad!? Can anyone tell me how far up do i fill the coolant in the header tank then so its not over filled? And should there ever be any coolant in the expansion tank near the battery when engines either hot or cold off standing all day?? Thanks

When my head gaskets went, revving the car and watching the overflow tank by the battery, I could see bubbles in there. They would appear a few seconds after letting the engine return to idle.
