Which Octane Booster??
Hi, I've recently bought an STI5 Type R (with no history) and will be getting it remapped soon, however until I do I'm running it on V-Power with octane booster. Are there any particular boosters out there that are better/worse than others?

You can use Toluene too.
I always used NF booster before a new ECU and map, for 2 1/2 years, never had any problems, plugs go a different colour though.
Depending on how many miles you do in your car, you'll soon get the cost of a remap back with better fuel consumption compared to leaving it and using booster.
I've just won some octane tablets from Japtorq, so I'll see how these do on the ECU monitor.
cheers

I use NF, imported by Roger Clark Motorsport who can mail it out to you but lots of other people around the country also sell NF. From the tests I have done I believe NF is the most effective octane booster I have used in terms of performance and value for money.
Millers Octane Plus only lifts the octane .3 as already explained above but the CVL performs as well as NF but unfortunately is much more expensive.

dont ever use octane boosting tablets, they are made from rust particles [ferrocence]
Anyway i used millers cvl turbo today, does about 1.3 points for each full tank but she runs plenty well enough on vpower i did it as a treat
Made of ferrocene (iron compound) that releases a cloud of iron oxides (rusts) which works as combustion catalyst and forms coating in the engine. Ferrocene is illegal for bulk treatment of fuels in USA . Was used in USA in the 1930s as octane booster but discontinued due to problems with spark plug and excessive engine wear.
