Car is still in the Darlington area.

When Paul Stabler had it, it ran about 390 bhp despite exaggerated claims of much more. The current owner had it for a short time when I think he picked up a piston in the bore racing a bike or a porsche or something.
The engine was rebuilt and this took some considerable time. No expense was spared as far as I know.
The car was recently at Steve Simpson's for a remap after running in the new engine. The current owner can give you the power graph and details of the rebuild but it involved pistons and bearings and lots more from RCMS. I think it was also fitted with STi heads and I actually ported these, measured the combustion chambers and adjusted the compression ratios so they were all the same.
I havn't seen this car for about a month since it went for the rolling road but it needed a few minor tidying up jobs done on it. Eg. insulate FMIC pipes and little things like that.
The owner is currently on holiday I believe until next weekend but the car has lots of goodies including a six speed box, Gems in the glovebox, FPR and it has always been a fit vehicle.

thanks Harvey!
yeah the owner said about you doing work with it in the past,
didn't mention it blowing a piston/ring though.........he said they fitted the new heads and thought they'd renew bearings, rings whilst they were stripping it. (though a bit odd to split block when only changing heads)
I'm sure all is fine with it now though.
another thing is though he told me on the phone that it is only running 1.3bar, but going by the rolling road graph from the other week it is running close to 1.6bar........I still need to find the true torque figure of it.
thanks again
anymore info anyone?

another thing that worries me a bit is that I asked him if he has a knocklink to monitor det, he said it used to have one.....but never really showed any activity.....so when they rebuilt it he took it off.........
is it just me or does this seem a strange thing to do?
(just paranoid that the car is deting and he's taken off to hide that it's detting and sell asap)

When I drove it it had a knock link and if you have the graph from Steve Simpson/TEG you will see what the boost is. I actually took it to TEG for a mapping session about three months ago and my recollection is that it pulled about 1.55 bar on the rollers but it was a very willing car and the six speed box meant you always had the option of the right gear. From memory I would say it was a year ago when a piston picked up in the bore.
If you want a red Wagon with 410 bhp, this car has the right bits on it, it is certainly worth a look and you could make a real sleeper out of it.
