Default ECU Codes and bad starting

Hi all.

Please help with this irritating problem, whats happening is this. When I start the car from cold or hot, it wont start until i give it a little bit revs. It will then die on me if i take my foot off the revs. When i drive for a little way(say even 100ft), it will idle ok. But soon as i try and start it up again its got the same problem.

I have connected the under dash connections and watched the CEL, but its giving me a constant flash of about 1 sec intervals. Does anyone know what is going on here.

MYUK 94 wagon if its any more help

Thanks for any help.

Looking at the engine bay it's to the top left of the lhs inlet manifold pipe and is a brown connector pligging into the block

In the gap below the recirc valve (round thing with the blue tubing) and the inlet manifold, you may need a torch to see it.

Great guys got it. Think this could be my fault as i took the blanking plates off the vents, thinking with it being summertime and all the heat. But with all the rain lately, maybe its sensor has got a bit damp. Do you think this could be the problem.

Thanks for the help anyway.
