Default Rear Crank Oil seal issues

Just about to replace the rear crank oil seal in my scoob as part of the rebuild.. On taking out the old one i scored the surface slighly on the block.. My main worry now is leaks after the new seal is flush and in place....

I dare say a dab of 3 bond silicon arounmd the seal wouldnt do any harm????

Any thoughts.. apart from Craigs a tool for scoring it in the first place!!!

Can't see it being a problem, the seal will be a tight fit anyway.

Good Luck.
