You don't need to touch any of the air-con system-just unbolt the air-con pump from the front of the engine and swing it away to the right hand inner wing.

That's how I did mine-twice !

There is enough clearance,I had to move the air-con pump a few times when lifting the engine out because it was in the way.

I can't remember how many gearbox bolts there is off the top of my head, think it's 6 but not sure !

Do you know about removing the pin from the clutch fork before trying to seperate the engine/'box ?

It's not hard to get at. There is a bolt you need to remove on the right hand side of the gearbox near the top(looking from the front of car) I think it's a 10mm allen key that you need, when you have removed that you need a long 6mm bolt-there is a threaded hole in the clutch fork pin-you need to screw the 6mm bolt into that and then pull it out. I needed to tap mine out using a screwdriver and hammer on the 6mm bolt.

I hope that makes sense-I'm better at doing it than describing it !

If you use the search button you will find that it's a subject that's been covered alot-that's how I found out about it.

Hope I am of some help to you
