Cambelt differences
Hi,
Does the phase1, 1.5 and 2 engines use the same cambelt?
I am asking because I find it very hard to allign all the cams acurate when trying to mount my new cambelt on my phase 1 engine. Is it normal that it is impossible to catch all allignment marks at the same time? I have a hard time catching the marks on cylinder 2 and 4.
If they are not the same, could somebody then post the part numbers for the different parts?
Thanks in advance

same.. you cannot line them up to the belt or up to the belt and the covers?
line the wheels to the belt.. pull the pin on the tensioner etc.. and spin the engine over and check alignment on the covers etc.. the belt will move / rotate around so the marks on the belt will no longer line up but the wheels to the covers should! Using a spanner on each of the cam wheels also helps sometimes.
number 2 and 4 are harder to set up as the cams are just going onto cam and the tensioner is that side so you have slack where it shouldn't be as it were.

The problem is that if I try to catch the marks in the cam wheels and the marks in the covers, this works fine, but as soon as I release the tensioner the marks slide a bit. This means that when I have turned the engine over a few times and try to align using the marks in the cover, then the marks in two camwheels does not meet up a 100%. Just wondering if this is normal.
