Default wrx brake help needed plz.

ive got a 94 wrx import and my handbrake light will not go off ive read that it could be the hand brake sensor or worn pads. I defo think its the pads as the rears are shot and has caused scoring on one of the discs, my handbrake works fine and the brake fluid level has dropped between max and min. the discs are ventilated both front and rear but as my handbook is in japanese i dont know the size of the discs or what pot the calipers are any ideas .....thanks in advance guys!!

Impreza uses cable operated handbrake shoes (it's an itegrated disc & drum on the rear). It doesn't manually actuate the hydraulics like many other cars so rear pad wear doesn't have anything to do with your light. More than likely it's just a faulty handbrake switch - time to lift the centre console and check wiring, connections then try the switch.

Cheers,

Stewart.
