What difference will I see after fitting a de-cat up pipe on my 02 WRX?

All i have at the mo is a centre section back performance exhaust

What sorta price should I expect to pay second hand?

Without a remap no difference at all apart from a CEL light after removing the EGT sensor.

Don't replace the up-pipe without doing the downpipe as that has to come off anyway to get to it. Keep the centre section to replace for MOT - or fit a high flow sports CAT downpipe. Mine passed MOT no probs with just the PPP sports cat downpipe.

You WILL need a remap if decatting up/down pipes as it's quite a change to the exhaust system and I doubt the ECU will cope.

Less than 60quid should get you a second hand decat up-pipe. I recommend a slip jointed one from Magnex or Hayward and Scott - not the cheap ebay flexi ones as they are prone to failure and it's a b!tch of a job to change so you really dont want to do it more than once ! 60 should get you a second hand decat downpipe too. Wrap it before fitting.

Use the search function to find my post about fixing the CEL associated with removing the EGT sensor in a Newage WRX - explains 2.2kOhm resistor and shows pics of fitting.

Panel filter, decat up pipe and a decat down pipe (or High flow sports cat) with a remap will give 280-290bhp on a newage WRX with similar torque, low and quick spool-up with the standard TD04 and gives a very drivable car

For remapping £650ish for Ecutek (includes license fee) or quite a bit less for a Non-Ecutek map (See JollyGreenMonster on here for license free mapping).
