ej20g POWERFC issues. need HELP bad!
hi guys. i have a japanese spec 95 ej20g wrx w/ a td05h and i have a powerfc. i came across this issue, my car wont start up with the powerfc but will start right up with the stock ecu. i tried everything / checked all the sensors on the commander/datalogit, turned the boost control kit option off, i "re-initialize" the whole pfc settings(reset to factory settings) and still no luck. im pretty stuck. im getting tuned on tuesday and my car wont start w/ my standalone. anyways, id really appriciate it if you guys can chime in into some posible leads to solve or diagnose my problem.. thanks in advanced.. any advice would be great.

Why not drive to the tuner (mapper?) on the stock ecu and if they are an FC mapper the Apexi safe map can be installed to get it going.
There is a start-up map etc to get into the system etc.
I presume the FC is new? If not, are you sure it is a good one?
Alternative would be to try the real FC mappers for some advice, AndyF/Zen/API

Subaru move the pin outs for the cam / crank angle sensors. So you'll almost certainly find that they are in the wrong pin holes on the A'Pexi.
Don't ask me which, that is something that the tecchies here deal with and they know it by just doing it not thinking about it. I believe red wires and white wires are involved in the plot somewhere.
Good Luck, David APi

any more ideas? i have people having the same setup and they dont have issues. starts right up. i called apexi today and they told me its definately a fueling issue.. but i "reinitialized" the pfc. so basicly it should be on its "base map" then they told me the pfc base map are rich outa the box to prevent people from blowing cars up. so he said leaning this out a bit should eliminate the problem. any input on this? it kinda makes sense but.. what i dont get is why does most people dont have the same issue. my car has full voltage. sensor check ,checked out and works fine on the stock ecu . this is soo disappointing.. any info would be nice. need more options..=(

Base map should start it fine, they are only rich once on load. Are you getting a maf signal (monitor/airflow) on the hand commander when the ign is on ?
Has the ECU been locked, ie can you read the injector and airflow values in the settings menu (not monitor)

^^thanks.. ima go check it out.. all i remember is prior to startup.. on the sensor check screen.. IGN is encircled black.. but when u start cranking it.. IGN circle flickers.

ok.. today.. something i noticed too.. if you update the values prior to startup.. it will respond. but once you start cranking the motor up. it says " interface not responding" on the data log it. almost seems like a very bad voltage drop for it to lose enough voltage to not go on. ill try to check the main harness's power output. this sucks.

Either as has been suggested parts of the map is locked.. or perhaps the powerfc is faulty.
PM me your number and I'll ring you as I can talk you through checking if the map is locked and unlocking it and the log output etc.
