Removing up pipe cat will give you issues with EGT sensor on a newage WRX. Even if you get an up pipe with a sensor boss the OEM EGT sensor wont be any good in there due to increased temps.
You can either relocate it into the downpipe which may mean drilling and welding a boss, or getting a downpipe with a spare boss fitted (if you can ?). Or you can remove EGT altogether and 'fool' the ECU into thinking its still in place and giving a valid reading by using a 2.2k Ohm resistor in the connector.
Removing all the cats will need a remap otherwise overboost is likely and possibly running lean, or having the ecu compensate on a newage and actually loosing some power.
Its well worth doing though.

i have already got 2.2kohm resistor in egt plug, the sensor failed a while back and i did not see the point in changing it.
i am removing all standard cats and just having 1 sport cat in centre for mot purposes, iam getting remapped once i have sourced all the parts and fitted them probably by jgm simon as i have heard he is very good.
down local scrapper with the cats it is then if i can get £30-£35 a piece

Spot on, just thought I'd add my 2pence worth as lots of ppl think they can just whip all the cats off and turn their car into a popping and banging ferrari beater for 150quid
