Default the corect way of hid's, no crappy kits

hey guy's,

now alot of people are using the aftermarket kits, either from group buy's or ebay. these have fitments for our cars but are not designed to work in our healights, they give off lots of glare, strange beam patterns and shouldn't pass an mot, but mainly do.

in america, the correct way to go about this is by doing a retro fit, this entails installing the components from a oem car that had hid into a car that doesn't. this gives the factory look, and beam patterns not to mention alot more light.

here's how.

get a set of projectors, bubs, ballasts and ignotors. relays and wireing.

these are bosch e46 bi-xenon's, meaning i have high and biped beam, they are from a 2002 merc sl500.

heres the wiring and ignitors

main mock up of the lamp,

all done and fitted

most importantly, the correct beam

now some hid projectors have different spreads of ligh and colour intensitys, mine are known for there wide angle of vision ans there whiteness, but they can be colour modded to give a blue tin to them, its slightly visible at the top of the cut off. i may do more colour modding though to get even more blue.

looks good but judging by your cut off picture it looks like you need to rotate your projectors slightly

sorry,

the pic was the only pic i had, in a dark enough place-the spray booth, i was setting the lamps up for colour and took a pic, i actually straighted them after i finished playing,

cost wise, they came from a nitromosed sl500 where both lights had melted and were scrap, so i used them, you can get hid lamps from ebay cheap ish.

last night was the first time i'd been out in the dark, they have a nice blue tinge to the top of the cut off while giving loads of light to the ground and far distance,

really chuffed with the results,

jake
