slight oil coating in intercooler ????
Yesterday I fitted the Samco turbo set of hoses but when I removed the intercooler it had a slight coating of oil in it , is this normal or is my engine about to die ????????

normal when the recurculation pipe work is still plumbed in.... if its just light then nothing to worry about,i re ruted my breathers to a catch can and no oil at all in the inlet and intercooler now.

If its heavily coated in oil,then your engine may be a heavy breather in as much as the crankcase is suffering compression due to worn rings,or your valve seals may be worn allowing gasses past and into the breather pipework..... easy to see if its breathing heavy is to release the oil filler cap when the engine is running and see how smoke emits from there,as thts directly linked to the crankcase...
