Default Odd creaking rotating noise

This is a real long shot I know, but any help appreciated.

I have an intermittant noise from front nearside. 97UK car 128K miles.

Original 2 pot brakes ( and I had a sticky caliper about 18mths ago). Original drives shaft and CV joints too.

At really slow speeds almost sound like a creaky old door, higher speeds it still only happens at a certain period related to wheel rotation.

Still happens on or off throttle or brakes. It's not gear dependant.

Sometimes it happens from cold sometime not.

nothing seems about to fall off, hardest part is that it's intermittant.

Any clues at all?
Cheers

Sounds very much like a wheel bearing - mine made such a noise, it's not the whirring noise you would expect from a failed bearing.
