Default not running rite

hi newby here, just acquired my first subaru impreza but it aint quite running rite, its not running on 1 of the cylinders. to cut a long story short its blew a piece of the plug on one cylinder and now it aint rite, any idea what this could be and how to sort it, its a 98 model.

yes the plug has been changed to another one,.

well if you have the model with coilpacks then check then. Take the rubber boot off the end and inspect for hairline crack that with let the electrode escape and give you a weaker spark causing roung running and misfires.

Well, if the plug electrode fell into the cylinder then it may have got lodged between the cylinder liner/piston ring. Or, it may have bent a valve. Best to get it checked by a specialist. Where are you based?

based in cadishead its between salford and warrington. the car doesnt smoke one bit though i thought that if it was a damaged valve or piston that it might smoke.
