STI Version 2 Quetions
hello. i am a newbie into Scoobies ! So i have some quetions!
what the difference between a normal WRX one and the 1996 STI Version 2 ?
maybe someone can show me a link where all difference are written ... that could be great

Some say forged internals, some find none of it.
Although one is for sure the STi engine wise is mapped to produce more boost. A bit. Hence difference in power and torque.
There are suspension differences - the sti is more harsh. It means it has different shock obsorbers and springs at least.
Transmission wise - the gearboxes, maybe.
Diffs differ. Brake disks vary in sizes, I guess this one.
This is really bad, because having wrx sti ra ver2 myself I am not sure wether it has all that blueprinted forged internals or not.

I read a story of a guy was sold early shape ra sti, and it turned out having ordinary wrx engine. You could tell that by looking at the pics of his heads being questioned - wether they were underbucket shims or hydraulic ones.
And one more thing the engine block was open deck one.
Do a research here - putting "sti vs wrx" sti, ver2 and staff to search textbox and you will find your weekend reading.
