Default 3" or 2.5" bore???

Howdy,

on my 93 wrx ive got a 3" exhaust from turbo to backbox.

Ive just bought a 2.5" cat back system for a bargain price as my 3" system was a bit of a foreigner from a friend of a friend......

I appreciate that its not gonna make much difference as the car is standard apart from a k+n panel filter, but ive just ordered a Scott t chip with the 3" exhaust listed ( ive emailed Scott!)

just wondering if the whole half an inch is gonna make a difference.....not in the pants dept either

cheers

Don't know how true it is but I've been told that a 2.5" is better for making more torque than the 3", but you will get more BHP with the 3". As I have said, don't know how true it is, I'm sure someone else can comment further.

3'' is good for about 600 bhp I was told, RCM i think have 3.5'' with their 850bhp monster

I changed from standard headers to stainless and full de cat to 3'' turbo back plus other mods gained a fair amount of torque but spent probably £2500. 2.5 should be fine and will give a bit more clearance on the prop shaft.

Good design is more important than size.
