Default How Do You ?

Can anyone supply a step by step guide on how to drain the gear oil and re-fill ?

Go for drive to get oil hot
jack up car
remove drain plug (22mm socket IIRC)
catch oil in bowl
refit drain plug
lower car to ground
remove gearbox dipstick
attach 2ft length of rubber/plastic hose to end of 1 litre gearbox oil bottle pipe
poke hose into dipstick tube
invert gearbox oil bottle
squeeze bottle and wait until empty.
repeat a further 2.5 times
check oil level with dipstick
if required add more oil
check gearbox plug for leaks

capacity is approx 4 litres (but depends how much you manage to get out)
I only managed to get 3.5 litres in last week.

Thanks for this, Is the drain plug on the gear box itself ?

Yes, in bottom of gearbox just behind plastic undertray (if fitted), sort of inline with the front wheels.

you can either get to it by sliding under the front of the car or the side of the car just behind front wheel.
