stay off boost for a mile before stopping then 30 secs will be plenty, heavy usuage i would give it a minute or so. Thats just my opinion though

Blimey - I try and let mine idle for 30 seconds after a hard run but normally less than this! Thinking about it, if we owned a scoob for the rest of our lives and travelled to work and back every day and shopping at the weekends we could potentialy spend 40 days sitting in the car letting it idle (or even worse, using a turbo timer, locking the car and then prentending not to care about whether it turns off OK)!

If they were that fragile dont you think manufactures would fit them as standard. I cant think of one car company that fits a timer as standard to there turbo cars.

cambelt price seems ok to me m8 and if you take it easy the last bit of your journey it should be fine to turn it off.....
obviously if doing anything like track day's let it chill a bit before switching off.

But then how many cars have reduced rev and speed limiters for the initial run in of a car engine from new?

Its in the manual to leave to run a bit, i spose a slow steady cruise is just as good.
