new injectors -> immediate remap?

new injectors -> immediate remap?
I'm just about to fit some STI pinkies to my WRX 03.
Is an immediate remap required, or can I go and fill the tank up with the new injectors in place? I cleverly left it at almost empty, and I want a new load of optimax in there prior to mapping
The car will have a bunch of other mods too, but it will be driven off bost etc etc of course (just to the petrol station and back, honest guv)

If kept off boost it should cope with the extra fuel.
the other option is for the mapper to set up and tweak on the slow cruise to the petrol station.. however with you fitting a number of mods it would be good for you to take the car out to check it..

It definately needs a remap, don't even think about fitting unless thats a plan, injector duty cycles will be exactly the same but the bigger injectors will be sticking in the extra that their larger size ratios. Fine off boost, you have a boost gauge installed I guess ?

Cheers for the input guys
Will have a boost gauge fitted, yes... It's just that the car is in pieces in the back yard at the moment, so thought I might as well fit the injectors at the same time. However, I may just slap it all (minus injectors) together, take it out for a quick non-boost spin to verify that there are no exhaust leaks, oil leaks etc and then fit the injectors after filling it up.
Now, if it would only stop raining for more than two minutes...

Remember that getting it mapped by someone reputable can mean booking well in advance..!
It can be a bit of a nightmare, as you need to book a date with mapper then have the mods fitted as close as possible to that date, unless you have a second run-around that is. It leaves very little room for error and if one of the fitted mods isn't right then it fubar's the mapping session.
I was running around at 5pm on a Friday trying to get a Walbro to fit ready for mapping early the following day. I'd already got one but turned out to be the wrong one..DOH..! Anyhow I found one and fitted it and the car was mapped.
Is it all worth it..? You bet, transforms the car..!

What else are you fitting?
If you have an adjustable FPR you can turn it down to say 2.7 bar and it'll be fine running closed loop (off boost). TBH the car car will rune fine off boost with the OE FPR and bigger injectors.
I drove my car with FMIC, headers injectors etc 100 miles off boost to get it mapped.
