right, the 'holy grail' I know. would search but search down

So, how does one do the ECU reset? bearing in mind I have no access to Select monitor, because I'm a jap import.

At present I've disconnected both cables from the battery and am leaving the car for about 2 - 3 hours. should this do it?

if not, then what to do?

I know I should know the answer to this, as I've been around here for long enough, but never needed to reset the ECU until now (optimax and downpipe - thus cat free)

Try having a look at this website on how to reset the ECU without the need to disconnect the battery, and leave your car without an alarm!

I've tried it on a MY00 UK Wagon, with full Scoobysport system, and it did make a slight difference, in that the engine does feel a bit better.

I know it's not the same model as yours, but surely there is no harm in trying.

Markus

I do the MRT method all the time on my MY95 WRX, the connectors are under the dash in the loom where all the wires leave the steering column - I'm pretty sure yours will be in the same place.

I've noted that the check engine light flashes to say its all done after only a few yards of driving. Once all the connectors are disconnected I find the best way to drive is off boost for a while, then give it some stick!

Thanks, will give it a go. To be honest the disconnect battery method seems not to have done anything, but I can't be sure it did reset the ECU. will give the MRT method a go and see what happens. to be honest, at the moment it's great, so won't be any kind of loss if it does not make any difference.
