I have an MY93 WRX, and recently the CHECK ENGINE light has illuminated, giving Fault code 45. This is a pressure sensor fault.
However, today I've been to the back door of the local dealers', and they could find no problem with any of the pressure sensor systems. They even resorted to swapping bits to check, but the CHECK ENGINE light persisted.
Has anyone had any experience of ECUs failing? I guess the next thing to check is the earthing on the ECU, and then possibly try to swap with another unit?
If the ECU has failed, are these easy to come by, and are they expensive (I'm guessing £hundreds).
Cheers for any replies,
Dave
