Default Metal filings in gearbox oil??

Had my MY99 Uk Turbo serviced today and the garage said there were some metal filings in the gearbox oil when it was drained.

He said you sometimes do get bits of general swarf within the oil; but these were a bit larger than usual apparently.

Has anyone ever had this, or have any info regarding what it could be??

Cheers

Not good news.
Parts wearing and breaking off.

If the box works though I'd leave well alone.
