You will be running only 10.8psi dropping quite quickly down to 6.8psi
A WRX Saloon should be running 11.47psi held boost if it's a Pre Sept 1994.
If post Sept 94 and running a Z4 then is will run 12.7psi.

Cheers Scott..............Yea i figured as much, when the car was under warranty after i bought it in November it was overboosting quite badly so i took it back to them and they said it had a dodgy ecu in so have put a standard one in and obviously i had no reason to doubt this but did notice it was slower. However its only now that i realise the score and im livid!!............the thing is it runs fine so by putting a z4 in will it upset things?......any help would be great

Someone may of removed the restrictor from the boost control return hose. this can cause it to overboost, especially if a decat has been fitted.

check the very bottom hose from the boost control solenoid (cylinder thing on driver side strut with 3 hoses, 1 in top, 1 in side and 1 in base, and 2 wires attached).
The hose that comes from the base should connect to the big black resonator box on the air intake. Inside this hose is a small brass restrictor.

it's quite common for this restrictor or even the hose to be removed completley, especially if an induction kit is fitted.

The z4 won't upset the car (i'm running 1 in my 93 wrx with a vf12 turbo (old legacy turbo) it should be a td05 (which is what the z4 is mapped for).
If you look at Scotts website you can see what he can do for performance wise.
If you need a standard 93 ecu i have 1 spare (code W6 or U8 can't remember) if you want it just pm me.
