Im wanting to upgrade my standard turbo on MY99 Classic UK Turbo.
Theres a guy on a local forum selling a low millage STI VF35 off a new age impreza, would this be a decent upgrade?

thanks, anyone else offer any help?
Also do I HAVE to get the car remapped if I fit the following:
Walbro Fuel Pump, VF 35 Turbo and Front Mount
If so what should I go for and how much do I need to budget? I Goodgle APEXI FC and it was looking around £500

Vf35 is a popular choice - later spool, but a fair bit more power and still responsive. Maybe 320 bhp with remap, limited by your std intercooler.
Yes, you need to remap to prevent potentially dangerous lean running. Note that ideally you'd want 440 injectors or bigger with a VF35 - not sure if your car is on them or not. On a 99 you can get Ecutek, which is top notch. £500 + vat.

You WILL need a remap with your mods. At the very best you won't get anything like the full benefit from them without it (mine felt as flat as a pancake on the drive to my mapper after the mods had been installed - no det though, most likely as I kept it off boost!). More likely, if you drive it on boost you'll melt a piston!
