Default Steering Wheel Boss

Has anybody changed their OE airbag steering wheel for an aftermarket non-airbag steering wheel?

If so then where did you get the boss from please as I am after one. Also, how easy was it to fit? I've had the airbag out and steering wheel off today. Are there any other bits that need to be removed?

Cheers

Ben

Removed the truck sized wheel on my old STi 4 and replaced it with a MOMO coarse. The only problem you have is the air bag light on the dash is permanently illuminated and i could never find the fuse for it so i stuck a piece of black tape over the light.

I got the boss form Demon tweeks they don't make one for air bag equipped cars so just buy the non air bag version, removed the fuse for the air bag and cut it off leaving enough cable to re-join if needs be.

It made the car fill so much nicer to drive the steering always felt to over assisted to me and decreasing the diameter of the wheel made a huge difference.

On the down side you lose the added protection of the air bag but my car was a weekend toy.

It also looked far better.

Cheers for that!!

Has made me feel a lot better about buying the sheel now. I did a search on here after I posted and all I read was doom and gloom!

Did the steering wheel boss bolt straight on with no meed for modifications?

Cheers

The only thing that need modding was the plastic cowling around the steering column.
